To provide information about emergency incidents or non-emergency events that may cause community awareness or concern in east Harris County, Texas.
Trained personnel at participating industry (such as oil refineries, petrochemical plants, storage terminals) and city/county agencies (such as police/fire dispatch or emergency management officials). Industry facilities do not have to be East Harris County Manufacturers Association (EHCMA) members.
There are two types of messages typically shared over the CAER line:
You can also call the CAER Line to report odors to the EHCMA Odor Network.
Agency and industry officials try to post messages within 15 minutes of an incident or event that may cause community concern.
You can call 281-476-CAER (2237) or 281-476-CARE (2237) to listen to any current CAER Line messages or to report an odor to the ECHMA Odor Network for investigation.
