The Media Relations office is under the command of Lieutenant M. Welch. It is staffed by Sergeant Raul Granados and Officer Jessica Ramirez. The office operates Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The office of Media Relations is responsible for developing, implementing, promoting, and maintaining Public Information for the Police Department through media and social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Nextdoor, Instagram, and YouTube. It handles all aspects of social media and responds to daily requests regarding information from citizens, media, etc.
This office is in charge of developing and facilitating releases to the media on developing/breaking stories regarding crime offenses, investigations, and /or other areas of public concern. It also creates and monitors the content for standard social media platforms and implements public information strategies for getting the Police Department’s message on crime/crime prevention and other activities to the general public.
This office serves as the department’s clearinghouse for press releases as well as public safety announcements, videos, recruiting, and other functions as designated by the chief of police.
